Frequently Asked Questions regarding Donor Central

Q.

Why doesn’t my grant recommendation show up right away under Grants Pending in the Fund Summary?

A.

Grants appear as Pending as soon as the Grants Administrator logs them into the Foundation’s database. This is done within 48 hours of receipt of the grant recommendation. This information will appear in Donor Central the following morning, since all data is updated each night.

Q.

How long after I submit a grant recommendation through Donor Central will the grant be paid to the organization?

A.

Subject to the Due Diligence Process and Board approval, if you make your recommendation by the 15th of the month, the grant will be paid on the last day of the month, and if you make your recommendation(s) by the 1st of the month, the grant will be paid on the 15th.  Grant recommendations to agencies not found in the Donor Central database, or for amounts over $50,000 require additional due diligence and are paid monthly.

Q.

How can I know if the grant I recommended has been paid?

A.

Pending grants are listed in the Fund Summary portion of the site. If an amount other than $0 appears, it means the Foundation is still obtaining information about the intended grantee and/or processing the check. Once that amount appears as $0, the check has been sent to the organization.

Q.

How secure is Donor Central?

A.

In order to use this site, your web browser must meet Donor Central’s strict security requirements to maintain the privacy and security of your fund information. Specifically, your browser must support:

If you see a message indicating that your browser does not meet these specifications, you need to upgrade your browser to the current version. Detailed information on security is available in the section called Important Security and Privacy Information.

What’s the difference between a gift and a grant?
